Almost exactly one year ago we were writing about our first multi-unit franchisee, Brad Barbour and his family, opening their second Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar in Tryon Village. That location would be Shuckin’ Shack number two for the Barbour’s after opening their very first Cary restaurant two years prior. Now, as you’ll see from the photo gallery below, the same family is just days away from opening at 2340 Bale St. - Unit #100 - in Raleigh (at the corner of Wake Forest Road and McNeil - in McNeil Point).
Opening three new restaurants in three years is an impressive accomplishment for anyone, but considering Brad had no prior multi-unit restaurant or franchise experience makes it even more amazing. As a CPA in his former life before The Shack, Brad shared his genuine appreciation for our special coastal seafood restaurant and sports pub. In an interview we conducted with him last Summer, we asked would he recommend the Shuckin’ Shack Restaurant Franchise to family or friends, his response was powerful:
Oh, absolutely. I love the concept first and foremost because we fell in love as customers first. Then, after the numbers made sense, we fell in love as business owners. We really appreciate Matt and Jonathan and the rest of the team - enjoy working with them. I'm really excited to see how we continue to improve things as we get bigger and get more franchisees in and get more buying power. So, I definitely think we're on a good path.
