Advantages of Multi-Brand Franchising

During our January Discovery Day, our entire Shuckin’ Shack support team welcomed a North Carolina resident who is already a successful operator of two food franchises.  For anonymity purposes we’ll refer to this candidate as "Mr. Gold".  We'll also refrain from specifying the brands he owns, but he is a franchisee for a national pizza chain and a regional burger franchise as well. Mr. Gold has done his homework on Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bars and submitted all paperwork required to receive an invitation to our monthly Discovery Day.  He is now ready to take an important step in being awarded a Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar franchise!

But why would Mr. Gold want to open a THIRD restaurant in his city? Here are a few primary advantages of Multi-Brand Franchising:

Product Diversity: Mr. Gold realizes that no one, himself included, can eat pizza every day. Same can be said for those juicy burgers his team serves up with cold, creamy shakes.  By diversifying businesses within a city, his restaurants generate sales every day regardless of what local residents crave, or seasonal fluctuations in products.  This helps Mr. Gold’s overall cash flow, which makes it more likely for all of his restaurants to succeed in the long run.

Local Network: Because he’s owned restaurants for years, Mr. Gold has established relationships with the local media,  HR agencies, equipment technicians and established a business support team he trusts (lawyer, CPA, insurance agent, banker, realtor, etc.).  When he is awarded a new franchise, Mr. Gold informs his team and they snap into action to deliver yet another successful business to their community.

Community:  Mr. Gold is an active member in his community.  Both of his franchise restaurants have joined the local chamber of commerce. His restaurants sponsor Little League and youth soccer teams year after year.  Both existing business are highly rated with the Better Business Bureau, and even NC state health inspectors are impressed by consistently high ratings from his restaurants.  When the community is in need, they know they can rely on Mr. Gold to provide support and so, when he launches a new restaurant, it’s likely to be well received by the same community he's served for many years.

As an experienced franchise business owner, Mr. Gold has learned that a true franchise opportunity doesn’t require his complete time and attention every day.  He hires talented people to manage proven business models, and pays them fairly so on-going restaurant success is highly likely.  We look forward to Mr. Gold potentially becoming a Shuckin’ Shack franchisee this year and joining our existing group of owners that already include multi-brand and multi-unit franchisees.  To learn more about advantages of multi-brand franchising, we recommend this important article.
